Important results from the project
The aim of the project has been to verify and validate a business concept around a non-contact measurement technique based on BST and Emmisivity Compensated Spectral Thermometry (ECSP), which was incorporated into the project from phase 2, and determine what is the most appropriate strategy for commercialization. The deal is considered verified as a commercialization partner engages in the purpose of investing own resources in the development of the business
Expected long term effects
The aim of the project has been to verify and validate a business concept for a non-contact metering technology based on BST (Broadband Spectral Thermometry) and Emmisivity Compensated Spectral Thermometry (ECSP), and establish the appropriate strategy for commercialization. This has been done by installing prototype systems at industry that successfully has measured continious temperature of melts, and thus the technolgy is verifed. The deal is considered verified as a commercialization partner is engaged with the purpose of investing own resources in the further development.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in four phases, where development of technology and investigation around the business took place in parallel. The work has been carried out in close collaboration with end-user industries, potential product owners and instrument suppliers. After each phase, the technology and commercial applicability have been analyzed, acting as base on whether an additional phase is justified and how it is to be implemented. The close cooperation with all parts of the value chain has been very valuable, as well as the strong link between business and technology
