Baseline definition for SIP Metallic Materials

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to establish a ´baseline´, i. e. reference values for a number of parameters designed to follow up the progress of the program. The players in the innovations area were divided into groups based on activity and sent a questionnaire. The response rate varied greatly between different groups, and thus the desired result was achieved only partly. The questionnare has been modified to better fit the groups with low response rates. However, collection and analysis of the results of the modified questionnaire will be carried out outside of this project.

Results and expected effects

The purpose of the project was to measure the impact of the program on the innovation area. This was achieved for parts of the innovation area. Hopefully, the remaining work will lead to it being achieved also for the other parts of the innovation area.

Approach and implementation

Establishing a reference level for key parameters has been an agenda item since before the program started. Goals as well as suitable questions for the questionnaire have been discussed thoroughly. Those groups of players that have been involved in the discussions also show high response rates. The prime reason for the mixed result was, therefore, that certain groups, SME in particular, were involved to late in the process. The effects are that a/ the work was delayed and b/ thus has to be finished outside of this project.
