Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of this planning grant was to develop a complete and successful VINNMER Incoming Grant. The proposal was submitted in the beginning of September.

Expected results and effects

The research aims for incoming mobility could be identified in face-to-face meetings. The researcher needs extended qualifications in pedagogy and teaching for higher academic positions. The focus of the research is the challenges with analysing the effect of autonomous vehicles on traffic safety. A proposal to Mobility for Growth was developed during the visit and submitted in September. This research will be the foundation for the development of education for graduate students, PhD Students and industry employees regarding up-to-date analysis methods in traffic safety.

Planned approach and implementation

The researcher visited Sweden in June and met with research collaborators at Chalmers, SAFER, and industry partners to discuss details of the aims to be included in the application. The focus in the application is on the new challenges in transportation data access and analysis methods that can address autonomous vehicles. The need for extended qualifications in pedagogy, relevant courses for Diploma of Higher Education were identified at Chalmers. The need for analysts in the area and the research in the proposal will be the base to develop a course with researchers at Chalmers.
