Call Needs-driven defense innovation in the Transparent Battlefield

Purpose and goal

The idea of the project is to take a civilian innovation, Einrides AI-förare, and apply it to military transportation. We integrate the AI driver from Einride´s autonomous trucks with a Swedish tracked vehicle to drive on snowmobile trails The military purpose is to have an increased logistics capability and to separate personnel from transportation through autonomous transport swarms. The civilian purpose is to give municipalities greater transport resources in times of crisis,

Expected effects and result

1. The integration of Einrides AI-förare with tracked vehicles 2. Plan routes, staffing, schedules and services. Benefit the local area 3. Träna AI-föraren in autonomous driving on snowmobile trails 4. Document how those who have worked with the tracked vehicle think about autonomous transport services Objective 1-3 aim to create autonomous transport swarms for logistics. Objective 4 prepares for civilian transport services and is a new part of Bussgods business development.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is short, with the only winter occurring early in the project. The project´s focus will be to complete the autonomous tracked vehicle that will be driven and to plan field trials on snowmobile trails. Work package 1 captures service and business model development for dual use, needs analyses for military, civil and emergency use, telecommunications work, Work package 2 contains the integration of the AI driver with the tracked vehicle. Work package 3, contains all field work.
