Important results from the project
The purpose and goal of the project was to increase the company´s competitiveness and offer on the global market by developing a new and unique, automated and battery-powered aircraft washing robot. The goal has been met as the company now can offer the market this unique solution.
Expected long term effects
The company´s expertise in mechanics, hydraulics, programming and IBC has been strengthened, which has a significant impact on the company´s ability to succeed with the product. Another positive outcome is that the company has received a sharp order as well as an opportunity to perform customer demonstrations in various locations in Europe. Expected impact of the project is that the company anticipates to achieve a turnover of approximately 10 MSEK in 2016, and at least 20 MSEK in 2017. An engineer was hired in 2016 and additional staff is expected to be employed during this and next year.
Approach and implementation
During the concept development stage, there was a very close collaboration between the company´s developers and the staff in the Finnish sister company who are the operators/users of the system. This exchange of information proved very valuable for the concept development and for setting the requirements of the new system. The company has deliberately decided to use its own staff as far as possible to avoid losing valuable knowledge to external consultants.
