Important results from the project
The project aims to increase AstaZero´s competence in five areas split in five work packages: AP1 Euro NCAP 2018 AP2 Euro NCAP 2020 and Automation AP 3 UNECE methods AP4 Internationell coordination of test methodology and test equipment AP5 Virtuella methods for verification of SAE levels 3 - 4
Expected long term effects
AstaZero has been accredited by Euro NCAP and is active in working groups for future test protocols and methods. The company is ready for Swedac technical audit re three UNECE protocols. Methods are automated and simplified. AstaZero has initiated and operated the global network I-FACT, for independent test tracks. Despite the pandemic, the network wants to continue its work, by exchanging test engineers. Virtual testing tools have been evaluated. AstaZero is a skilled and natural part of Euro NCAP´s strategies and development towards increased virtual testing thanks to the project.
Approach and implementation
AP1 and 2 concern Euro NCAP 2018 and 2020 respectively. Protocols and procedures for Euro NCAP 2018 were established and put into operation and Euro NCAP 2020 has been developed during the project. AP3, heavy vehicles, has collaborated with the competency project Test Technology and AstaZero´s customers. AP4 on international collaboration between independent test tracks gave good results despite corona. AP5 rated virtual methods and improved the company´s readiness for virtual work, and the related offer to clients.
