Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The aim is to be able to assess the ice condition with the help of drones in order to operationally plan and carry out passage for reindeer herders and reindeer herders. The goal is to develop a prototype for a system for assessment of ice safety using drones. We have tested three methods: visual, radar and ultrasonic buoy. For flight with radar and ultrasonic buoy, prototypes have been developed in a couple of steps each. We have thus made two unique prototypes.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** All three methods are interesting for reindeer herders. För Dálvvadis ek for is the strategy now to operationally and commercially stabilize the DTN-based system where the ice safety method is integrated. LTU´s S. Grasic has started a company to, among other things, push the ultrasonic buoy solution further. Exploitation is regulated in the cooperation agreement. Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The technical development in lab-scale and real-world conditions was handled by S. Grasic, LTU. The working group from Dálvvadis has been involved in previous project, including where Dr. Grasic was employed by the association. Likewise, Prof. Udén has been a reference person, etc. in projects owned by the association. Therefore, there are developed, good ways for both spontaneous and formal communication. the working group in Dálvvadis are reindeer herders and reindeer owners. Their evaluations decided several aspects of the solutions.
