Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to analyze key factors and processes that lead to open and effective test beds. Six project case studies from the portfolio of Vinnova have been carried out and the analysis shows that commercial components often play a crucial role, e.g. creating a suitable business model. The project has also contributed to a mobilization within the test bed domain by arranging networking activities, participating in information meetings and the program conference and by developing supporting documents and methodology for test bed development.

Expected results and effects

Key factors and processes that are crucial for developing open and effective test beds have been identified through project case studies in the Vinnova portfolio. This has lead to a deepened knowledge of test bed development and related requirements have been developed and integrated in Vinnovas programme definition, leading to a stronger programme. The work performed by the project regarding mobilization activities has strengthened the test bed domain and also enhanced the awareness of the programme.

Planned approach and implementation

Project case studies have been the main component of the setup of the analysis part. The case studies contained data collection, project visits, project management interviews and finally separate interviews with the most active industrial partners. The initial case study required a substantial amount of work/time, but after adjusting the setup continuously we obtained an effective work methodology. The mobilization part of the project covered activities regarding arranging, creating content and active participation in meetings and other networking activities.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
