Analyse and optimise collaboration for innovation

Reference number 2017-05374
Funding from Vinnova SEK 902 000
Project duration December 2017 - May 2019
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

The purpose of this project is to design a collaboration supporting service which will increase innovation capability in collaboration critical VINNOVA projects. The project goal is to develop, and through a pilot study evaluate methods and processes for increasing the collaboration capabilities within innovation platforms and projects. An additional goal is to, through the pilot study of the suggested service for collaboration insight, contribute to better collaboration for the parties in the pilot study.

Expected results and effects

The expected effects include better collaboration (for example across organisational spaces) which will generate additional value within projects and innovation platforms. Problems caused by collaboration difficulties or barriers are expected to decrease in effect and frequency. Examples of specific effects include: higher knowledge integration, increased trust between project parties, and quicker realisation of innovations. This results in stronger innovation capabilities and quality within VINNOVA projects characterised by complex collaboration settings.

Planned approach and implementation

A pilot study to verify the effect of a modified service, and contribute to parties in the pilot study. Pre-study: Idenitification of needs, collaboration issues, and possibly valuable insights Definition of service: A definition of the service aimed towards measuring, analysing, visualising, and following up on collaboration. Design of pilot study: Selection of a fitting project and scope of the pilot study. Pilot: Data collection, Collaboration analysis, and validation of collaboration insights. Evaluation of pilot: Evaluation of the developed service
