Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** An AI Boost is very important for the competitiveness of Sweden´s established small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). - AI is relatively mature and a number of use cases have already been introduced in SME companies outside Sweden. - Strong efforts are needed to create understanding among companies of the need to carry out an AI journey - and how it can be done in a good way. - AI Sweden has benefited from the lessons learned in this project and started AI Transformation which now runs this further on a broad front. https://www.ai.se/en/AI-transformation

Expected long term effects

Information and recruitment campaigns were conducted for 350 companies online. - 5 companies registered interest in participating in AI Boost program. - One Data Scientist was hired by AI Sweden to support the program. For each company that registered interest, 1-2 use case workshops were conducted - This work confirmed that there were feasible use cases with business benefits. - In addition, two webinars were held for companies that expressed interest in increasing AI knowledge among company leadership. - An analysis of challenges in SME to adopt new tech has been prepared.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Much of the slowness to adopt new technology is about companies´ views on funding and risk. Many SME companies are not used to working with R&D and have a hard time seeing how this creates value. MAny SME are used to investing in equipment. It is difficult to see the utility of a new technology and they has no experience of converting new technology into business value. Companies are used to seeing a return on investments within a year, longer horizons are perceived as a problem. Companies see R&D as a cost - not an investment.
