Important results from the project
As the mining industry increasingly relies on complex mobile machinery, ensuring high availability and reliability is crucial to achieving production targets. The project, AI Factory for Mobile Machinery in Mines (AIF/M), is developing a digital framework to support data-driven decision-making in asset management. A cloud-based platform was established to integrate operational data from major industrial partners.
Expected long term effects
The project´s expected long-term effects contribute to more efficient asset management of mobile machinery, increased effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance process, fewer disruptions to the production process, lower costs, and improved environmental sustainability.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in close collaboration with industrial partners. The project´s activities have been clustered into a number of work packages. For technical demonstrator development, the project has used LTU´s research platform ´AI Factory´. Sub-results from the project have been continuously verified with relevant stakeholders.
