Purpose and goal

The Project Agenda Swedish Production (APS) is a support activity for Produktion2030´s analysis and internationalization instrument. It aims to develop a research and innovation agenda for the Production Area, in collaboration between academia, industry and institutes. The original goal was not achieved and the APS project was redirected to support Produktion2030´s Production Council in the development of a national, web-based innovation platform. The Production Council and the innovation platform support the continued development of Produktion2030´s strategic agenda.

Expected results and effects

The APS project initially conducted interviews of industry representatives to map industry´s short-term objective and needs in the production area. Unfortunately, the mapping did not provide clear conclusions. The APS reprioritized its efforts to support the newly created Production Council of Produktion2030, building a joint, web-based innovation platform (Wide Ideas). Funding of development and licenses was a natural part of this work. The Production Council and the innovation platform work well for continued development of Produktion2030´s strategic agenda.

Planned approach and implementation

The APS project was originally intended to be carried out as a series of interviews of industry experts, combined with a future analysis in the production area from researcher perspectives. A gap analysis would then be carried out, in order to create a new research and innovation agenda. Due to unmet expectations in the outcome, the method in the project was changed to support the construction of a platform-based innovation tool, Wide Ideas, which has then been used by Produktion2030´s Production Council to strengthen the program´s analysis and internationalization work.
