Important results from the project
The project achieved almost all of its goals. We further developed collaborations which existed at the application stage, carried out an inventory of needs, and mapped out how we could realize our flagship projects. Our plans for a new centre for epigenetics, genetics and AI have progressed, and we have created new collaborative partnerships with researchers and entrepreneurs locally, nationally and internationally through our successful planning and dissemination workshop.
Expected long term effects
The long-term effects of this project will include an improved synergy between partners and the establishment of a concrete new centre in Linköping for this interdisciplinary work. Looking forward, there will be exciting new developments within our national and international projects, begun as a direct result of this planning grant. These will include new methods and processes which are in transition between different TRL, and new service offerings for our partners within industry.
Approach and implementation
We worked at both organizational and leadership levels to build a common managerial structure consisting of an interdisciplinary steering group and a subordinate leadership group, both meeting regularly to ensure progress toward project goals. An initial phase consisted of mapping competencies, areas of interest, and bottlenecks. The second phase involved gathering expertise and leveraging our networks to allow us to problem-solve and create new partnerships for our flagship projects.
