Purpose and goal

The goal of the Swedish advocacy platform for EU framework programmes for research and innovation has been to utilize possibilities to increase Swedish influence and participation in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. Focus areas digitalization to support a standard information infrastructure, a life cycle analysis, and industrial innovation in the development of the built environment.

Expected results and effects

The advocacy platform has deepened understanding of resources, networks and influence opportunitites within European framework programmes for research and innovation and identified priorities for partners within Smart Built Environment for engagement in Eropean arenas. A final report summarizes the platform´s analysis and activities and recommends an agenda for increasing Swedish participation in European research. Results will be used to develop Smart Built Environment´s internationalization strategy in 2019 and beyond.

Planned approach and implementation

The advocacy platform was organized as two major activities: 1.Mapping of current and coming possibilities for engagement within Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and related partnership instruments. 2.Analysis of interest and expertis among Smart Built Environment´s parters and identification of upcoming potential channels for program impacts within Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. This includes a survey of program partner interest in and knowledge of EU framework programmes for research and development.
