Call Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives, pre-study project 2025

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the feasibility study is to develop a plan for and form a broad constellation of actors for a joint effort to digitize the product flows in the food and grocery industry, through digitized return units. Outcomes and insights into data management, technology and value creation will provide decision-making information for SRS continued investment and create consensus on standardization and scalability potentials that are important for implementation throughout the industry.

Expected effects and result

The feasibility study will develop a conceptual solution in the areas of systems, data models and security. This also includes developing a system model for utilizing digitalization with a focus on new services, increased resilience and sustainable development in the industry. The feasibility study creates a foundation for SRS continued investment in the area by answering critical questions.

Planned approach and implementation

Together with Lund University, SRS intends to drive the feasibility study through active participation from key players in the food and grocery industry via interviews and in workshop format. By developing conceptual solutions and evaluating these together with relevant actors, business and industry needs will be deepened and models around data, security and implementability will be validated.
