Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden |
Purpose and goal
The project will create the conditions for a safe, sustainable and scalable introduction of automated mobility services in Sweden. Through collaboration between authorities, cities, regions and public transport operators, common working methods, division of responsibilities and implementation models will be developed ahead of the first operational rollouts from 2027 onwards.
Expected effects and result
The project will develop concrete models and recommendations for how automated mobility services can be implemented in practice. The results include clearer responsibilities between national and local levels, a model for the transition from trials to permanent operation, and an implementation framework for cities and public transport. The project will also strengthen Sweden´s attractiveness as an establishment market in the area.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in collaboration between public actors in the transport, urban and mobility areas. The work is divided into several work packages with a focus on policy, regulatory development, the role of the city, public demand and international strategic analysis. Genom Drive Sweden as a neutral platform creates a common structure for coordination, learning and continued system development.
