Purpose and goal

To collect ideas about the future form and content of the program, a process culminating (but not ending) with a large workshop at the conference program was carried out. To to disseminate results and provide a platform for discussion between the innovation area´s stakeholders a program conference was held. To increase interest in metallic materials a metal sculpture was created in Kungsträdgården. To increase the attractiveness of the metal industry, a book with photos illustrating work in the steel industry was published.

Expected results and effects

The program conference was very well attended (almost 200 participants) and thanks to the well-prepared workshops with subsequent analysis of the results, the program has a proposal of areas / themes and tools that will be useful in the development of the program. The metal sculpture ´The drop ´ was placed in Kungsträdgården during the Eurovision week was visited by many including the Minister of Labour and the photo book ´ Man vill ju ha hjälp nästa dag också´ was published and printed in 700 copies.

Planned approach and implementation

The process for collecting ideas for the future of the program worked very well and nearly 300 ideas were collected and analyzed. The conference with future-oriented presentations in plenary sessions, interactive workshops and parallel sessions with the presentation of the project was very well received. The construction of ´The drop´ was a good way to showcase metallic materials for other groups in society. The published photo book, similarily, shows the metal industry to new groups but also boast the steel workers.
