Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish "Access North Sweden" as an operational platform with partnerships including three science parks in northern Sweden and a partner in Silicon Valley. Goals are to attract at least five international scaleups or SMEs to northern Sweden, with one establishing a permanent presence, and to create 30+ connections with relevant stakeholders. After the initial phase, all science parks in northern Sweden will be involved as a soft-landing platform with potential US partners.

Expected effects and result

"Access North Sweden" is expected to deliver both short- and long-term results for project partners, organizations, and society. Science Parks will enhance international visibility and strengthen their role in the green transition. Northern Sweden will gain a soft-landing program to facilitate business establishment and create opportunities through collaborations. The project could generate 100 jobs, support Sweden’s climate goals, and make the region more attractive to businesses and investors.

Planned approach and implementation

The planned method and implementation for "Access North Sweden" involve establishing an operational platform with local and international partners, creating a soft-landing program for international companies, and providing support including testbeds, matchmaking, and business development. The focus is on mobilizing local resources, attracting companies from Silicon Valley, and ensuring seamless establishment through legal and administrative support, as well as regional networks and clusters.
