Purpose and goal
The project will identify research and innovation themes about mineral and metal supply from a total defence perspective, i.e. a whole-of-society defence perspective. The aim is to help create a broad list of proposals for research and innovation efforts that can strengthen the country´s ability to secure important value chains regarding metals and minerals. The project is therefore about drawing attention to research proposals that others can then study or work within.
Expected effects and result
The project intends to contribute context and ideas relating to strengthening the total defence in regard to mining and mineral value chains in a broad sense.
Planned approach and implementation
The deliverables include an oral interim report for SMM in December 2025, which is intended to enable a thematic call for proposals within SMM in 2026. The oral interim report will provide suggestions for the scope and delimitation of SMM´s thematic call for proposals. A final report will then be delivered in April 2026 with the associated PPT.
