Important results from the project
Our objective was to identify how we, as an innovation platform with a mission - that 9 out of 10 meals consumed in Sweden by 2040 should be within the boundaries of the planet - can contribute to driving the transition to a sustainable food system. We have mapped out possible levers together with actors in the food system to see where there is the greatest need for action. Based on this, the platform will work to mobilize for financial enablement, risk sharing and new routes to market.
Expected long term effects
To explore how to reduce the financial risk when switching to sustainable practises to produce food. To bridge the gap between producer and the market to create a stable demand for sustainably produced food. Explore new financial structures for implementing sustainable production. New support and incentive models for stable demand for sustainable and healthy food. Collaborate with initiatives that work to produce, develop, and make sustainably produced products visible in an attractive way.
Approach and implementation
The project included system and actor mapping by interviews, workshops, seminars and prototype projects. The prototype projects have contributed important insights, mobilised more actors and shaped the future direction of the platform. It is important for a food innovation platform to be agile to the geopolitical changes in the world. We have had personnel changes in the core team but have still been able to follow the plan. KRINOVA will be part of the core team instead of SISP stage 2.
