Project duration June 2017 - July 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the study is to evaluate whether Spirotuner is an easier and more time efficient method used in clinics today. There is a study on the work and environmental health department in Lund that is measuring time and experiences from the patients and caregivers that has used one of the two methods. The goal is to develop a digital solution that will economise time and staff resources. The Android version is finished and an IOS-version will be ready to be evaluated autumn 2018.

Expected results and effects

The results from the questionnaires that were answered by the caregivers using the conventional method shows that the method is time consuming and insufficient. Spirotuner was presented at the Occupational and Environmental Health spring meeting, the interest was big and therefor the study is extended and prolonged to 20 patients with multiple Work and environmental health department sites to enter. The inclusion of study patients with the digital method is predicted to be finished end of 2018. Spirotuner is validated and CE marked

Planned approach and implementation

The design and requirements were set under discussions with Work and environmental health department Lund. The Android version is finished and an IOS-version is ready to be evaluated autumn 2018. Spirotuner is synchronised with healthcare identification cards and Bank-ID. The technical validation was presented at the Work and environmental health department spring meeting and Spirotuner is CE marked. The interest from clinics that are seeking better tools to diagnose asthma is big. The potential on the Swedish market is estimated to about 20 million SEK a year.
