Important results from the project

Our objective was to concretize what a sustainable mobility systems means in practice based on the fact that there has been a norm shift; from car ownership to a flexible mobility system. We have created an audio experience where the user makes various everyday decisions around mobility. It is available to everyone via a digital service that actors can take part in, spread further and use in dialogue for strategic decisions and collaborations that need to take place to realize the vision.

Expected long term effects

The project has introduced a new approach to driving system change through foresight as a method and future prototype as a tool. In the long term, we expect the project to inspire more initiatives and investments with a future-focused perspective. By opening up discussions about mobility at a system level, where future needs and opportunities are at the center rather than just starting from today´s conditions, we see potential for a positive norm shift.

Approach and implementation

The collaboration worked very well and the project group had different skills that could complement each other. The premise of the project opened up many perspectives on mobility, which made it difficult to define at the beginning. This led to some process uncertainty and a shift in the schedule. But by testing early with system actors, we found the core of what the norm shift meant; the freedom norm. The project needed more time for system dialogue after the prototype was complete.
