A Collaboration for the Future of Swedish Glass Research

Purpose and goal

The main purpose to qualify the project leader so that he can lead larger international projects was in principle fulfilled in connection to when the project leader became coordinator of the EU-project LIMES within Solar-ERA.NET. The goals for the project were highly set but all goals have been to a high percentage fulfilled. Among the goals were both scientific and non-scientific goals. The project has been important in order to qualify the project leader to become a senior scientist and/or associate professor in the future.

Results and expected effects

The stay at Otto Schott Institute of Materials Research in Jena has improved both scientific and non-scientific skills that already start to show. The results of the research from the visit will be converted into scientific publications, approximately five publications will be connected to the project. The network of both scientific and industrial Contacts in and outside of Europe has increased considerably.

Approach and implementation

The project plan of the out carrying that was planned in consultation with both organizations showed to be suitable as the plan could be followed to a large extent. One and a half year project was suitable to gain experience from the other organization. It was also very beneficial to regularly be able to travel back to Sweden and a necessity for the project leader to apply for the VINNMER project.
