The purpose and goal has been to carry out an analysis of the urban development process based on Universell design and develop a thought support. A toolbox with various thought supports has been developed and will serve as a support for Universell design and to influence the design for a city that can work for everyone in an equal way. A number of issues and possible development areas have been identified, including within collaboration and coordination, competence development, priorities and conflicts of interest, follow-up and improved tools / routines.
Expected long term effects
Workshops and activities have contributed to the competence development of the participants and the development of a thought support version 1.0. The thought support is different tools that can be used in the different phases of the city development process and is integrated into existing tools to influence the design so that the city can work for everyone in the same way. As an effect, the thought support will be used in Gothenburg city digital twin a visualization tool various urban development projects and as part of the City of Gothenburg´s Social and Children impact analysis material.
Approach and implementation
Four workshops have been conducted based on implementation and completion, building permits, planning and planning and early stages as well as in-depth interviews with key people in the urban development process. At all workshops, issues have been discussed what you as an employee and organization can influence or not influence, and what support you need to contribute to inclusive and equal buildings and places. Through the approach, gaps and critical points have been identified and where there is the greatest need for universal design in the urban development process.
