6G Jamming Detection

Reference number
Coordinator Ericsson AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 100 000
Project duration January 2026 - September 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture 6G - Competence supply
Call 6G - Supervision of degree work

Purpose and goal

The project is about wireless network security and aims to investigate how 6G networks can detect and identify active jamming attacks. This project specifically aims to study jamming of indoor users, both with jammers placed inside the building, and outside. The goal is to develop methods to detect and locate jammers.

Expected effects and result

Quantify performance and algorithms for 1. Jamming detection 2. Jammer location detection 3. Difference between indoor and outdoor jammers

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s methodology is to use simulations and computer models. A detailed 3D model of an office will be created. Then, advanced ray-tracing models in combination with a network simulator can be used to investigate the performance of communication between base stations and mobile users under different interference scenarios.
