Purpose and goal
The transition to 6G networks will be driven by the need for higher performance and increased sustainability. The project aims to evaluate energy saving features in 6G networks, with a focus on sleep modes and on-demand signaling. Functionality to be evaluated includes, for example, scheduling of system information and algorithms for activating sleep modes. This is functionality that is currently being discussed in 6G standardization groups.
Expected effects and result
The work will be carried out using system simulations of 6G networks and includes both implementing and evaluating a number of energy saving features. The project also includes a literature review. The project aims to create insights that can guide the standardization and design of sustainable 6G networks.
