Purpose and goal

PFASfreeWATER aims to validate and commercialise a modular ultrasonic technology for PFAS destruction in water for the European market. The project´s objectives are to integrate the reactor technology into a field-deployable and scalable treatment system, independently verify performance and safety, and establish the technical, regulatory and commercial foundation required for future market deployment in drinking water, groundwater and industrial water treatment applications.

Expected effects and result

PFASfreeWATER is expected to deliver independent validation of ultrasonic PFAS destruction, an integrated pilot-scale treatment system, and the technical, regulatory and commercial foundation for future market deployment. The project will strengthen European capabilities in PFAS remediation, support compliance with emerging water-quality regulations and enable commercial introduction of more sustainable PFAS treatment solutions for municipal, industrial and environmental applications.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out by DABCE AB, FUST Lab Co., Ltd. and the Korea Institute of Toxicology over 36 months. FUST Lab will further develop the ultrasonic reactor technology, DABCE will integrate it into a scalable, field-deployable treatment system for the European market, and KIT will provide independent verification of performance and environmental safety. The project includes technology validation, pilot demonstrations and activities supporting future commercial deployment.
