Important results from the project
We were introduced to Singapore´s quantum ecosystem and new national quantum strategy. The project outcomes are (i) meeting and discussing with quantum colleagues at universities, quantum entrepreneurs and investors, (ii) gaining knowledge about the quantum ecosystem to support startups in terms of funding, investment and commercialization, and (iii) initiating collaborations. The trip has also provided opportunities to meet with former colleagues at CQT which was very beneficial.
Expected long term effects
QSIP organized the delegation—Quantum Sweden Innovation Platform from Sweden and the National Quantum Office (NQO) in Singapore. A Vinnova grant supported the delegation trip. The results will hopefully impact how research and innovation funding, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry can build a quantum ecosystem and develop a national quantum technology strategy.
Approach and implementation
The delegation trip was very well planned and organized. Starting by visiting the National Quantum Office, the research institute A*STAR, and the universities NTU and NUS. We also had the opportunity to visit the CQT. We also had the chance to visit research laboratories. We also participated in a networking event hosted at SGInnovate, where startups from Sweden had the chance to give a short presentation. We have been invited to the Quantum Industry Day organized by NQO.
