Vinnova invests in technologies that strengthen defense capabilities

There are now two financing offers for companies that want to help strengthen Sweden's defense capabilities.

One of the funding offers will stimulate innovation that increases freedom of action, reduces vulnerability and strengthens the overall operational capability in the Baltic Sea area. On, below and above the surface.

The second funding offer makes technology infrastructures available to companies that want to evaluate their technology for military use.

Technology contributes to strategic capability

Both funding offers are made within the framework of the Civil-Military Innovation Program. It is a government assignment to strengthen civil-military synergies in research and development with objective of strengthening Sweden's defense capability. The program promotes Sweden's strategic ability to use new technology to address defense-related problems faster and more effectively than adversaries.

The program is implemented by Vinnova and the Swedish Armed Forces with support from the Swedish Defence Research Institute, the Swedish Materiel Administration and the Swedish National Defence University.
