The program will focus on three overall challenge areas

  • Production, consumption and value chains within the planet's boundaries
  • Good and equal health
  • Attractive and well-functioning communities

Make a difference with innovation

In the autumn of 2022, the mobilization process will start, which will culminate in the programme that start in 2024. On September 1, 2022, the offer Preparation project opens the next generation of strategic innovation programs. There, actors will describe the system change they want to achieve in one or more of the program's overall challenge areas. The next step in the process is, among other things, that stakeholder constellations formulate common objective (so-called missions) that the efforts of a future program will be able to meet.

The process ahead

The process consists of three parts: assessment process, mobilization process and another assessment process. Only the dates for the first assessment process, the dates for 2022, are set. Other dates are preliminary.

What is Impact innovation?

Impact innovation is a gathering of forces where actors from business, academia, the public sector and civil society come together to meet the societal challenges of our time and the future. It is a continuation of the ongoing strategic innovation programs that started in 2013. The programme that are being formed that will start in full force in 2024.

For more powerful effects, a smaller number and larger programme must be prioritized in areas that are strategically important for Sweden. The new programs will to a greater extent address areas with broad societal relevance to ensure greater system effects. They must clearly contribute to global competitiveness through the transition to sustainable development and have a clearly stated direction (ie objective or so-called missions).
