For many calls for proposals you will need to collaborate with organisations from several European countries. It is therefore a good idea to start planning and finding partners well in advance.

How to search funding for your project

You apply for funding through an EU-call for proposals and carry out the project together with European partners. Once you have been granted an EU-project, you can also apply for national co-funding.

  • Start by viewing current and upcoming calls for proposals to determine if any fit your idea.

  • What happens after you have applied for funding?

Vinnova reviews all expressions of interest, and project that are eligible for co-funding are invited to submit a complete proposal about co-funding.

Please note that a expression of interest to Vinnova does not replace the EU-proposal. You still need to apply funding through a current call within DIGITAL. A expression of interest to Vinnova is also not a complete proposal for co-funding.

Vinnova's co-funding

Sweden will strengthen its effort on DIGITAL from 2026. Over six year period, a total of SEK 600 million will be invested in national co-funding, which corresponds to SEK 100 million per year.

The funds will support Swedish actors participating in project granted funding within DIGITAL.

If the interest in co-funding is greater than available funds, project with Swedish leadership and high quality, based on the EU's ranking, may be prioritised.

When should I contact Vinnova?

We recommend that you submit a expression of interest as early as possible,  preferably when you know you plan to apply for a call within the DIGITAL programme.

This makes it possible for Vinnova to plan the co-funding, and gives us the opportunity to provide early information about the conditions.
