What if we're wrong? How signals can challenge our beliefs about the future

Organised by: Vinnova
Digitally Tue 6 Oct 2026 at 14:00-14:50

Our strategies, analyses and decisions are always based on ideas about the future. About how people will live, work, learn, organize and use technology. But which of these ideas are based on things we take for granted? And what happens when signals in the outside world challenge what we thought was obvious?

This web page has been machine translated. If there are any uncertainties, please refer to the Swedish text.

Welcome to a seminar led by Jenny Sjöblom from Vinnova on the theme of strategic foresight and how concrete signals of change can help us discover hidden assumptions and stress test today's choices.

With examples from healthcare, education and social development, participants are invited to reflect on what questions we might need to ask more often about the future, and why they matter today.

Who is the seminar aimed at?

The passport is aimed at those of you who work with development, innovation, strategy, analysis, management or social issues and who are curious about how strategic foresight can be used to challenge habitual thinking patterns and strengthen long-term decision-making.

How do I participate?

The seminar will be broadcast on Teams. No registration is required.
