The design of the physical environment has a great impact on how we live our lives and on our well-being. By prioritizing social values together with ecological and economic values, we can create a sustainable society. When we strengthen and prioritize social values in the physical environment, we can, among other things, create better conditions for integration, access to affordable housing, reduced loneliness, improved public health and a sense of security.
Social sustainability is not a new phenomenon in community planning, but something that is constantly evolving. This call for proposals seeks to promote actors and innovations aimed at taking the next step in the development and implementation of models and working methods with the aim of integrating social values into the development of the physical environment.
