FORESTPathways: Building Knowledge and Solutions for Resilient Forests and Sustainable Forest-Based Futures
The European Partnership for Forests, Silviculture and the Forest Sector within Horisont Europa – FOREST – will open its first call for proposals for international three-year projectin autumn 2026. Formas, the Swedish Energy Agency and Vinnova are announcing funding so that actors operating in Sweden can participate in international project that focus on timber and innovative wood-based products, or on forest value chains, markets, governance and policy for the forest sector as a whole. The partnership aims to promote research and innovation to accelerate the transition to a resilient and knowledge-intensive forest-based sector that contributes to a sustainable circular bioeconomy and to society as a whole.

Research and innovation projects that contribute knowledge and solutions for a sustainable forest sector.
Who can apply?
Research providers, public organisations, companies (not sole proprietorships) and civil society organisations. Project teams must consist of at least three partners from three different countries participating in the call for proposals.
How much can you apply for?
Swedish actors in an international consortium can jointly apply for a maximum of 300,000 euros. If a Swedish actor coordinates the entire international consortium, Swedish actors can jointly apply for up to 400,000 euros in funding.
