Important results from the project

The project has met its goals. Through iterative user tests with focus groups and projects with external parties, we deepened our understanding of what developers need to get started with the platform and service. These insights directly drove platform development and improved documentation and onboarding. Several applications were built, published and tested in real-world scenarios, moving us significantly closer to Product Market Fit and a higher TRL level.

Expected long term effects

A broad launch of XIOS/3 as a PaaS service will enable browser-based web development for a wide range of developers. Visual app editing (XIDE) and the platform´s flexibility open the path to Product Market Fit and future venture capital funding. In the longer term, XIOS/3 has the potential to contribute to a stronger European cloud alternative and greater digital sovereignty within the EU innovation ecosystem.

Approach and implementation

Stage 2 ran two parallel tracks: platform development and user testing. Platform work included visual code editor XIDE, design system foundations and an updated VS Code plugin. User tests were conducted as onboarding events with focus groups and projects with four external parties. Feedback was continuously fed back into development. The project ran as planned without unexpected deviations and the activities are deemed highly relevant to the project’s current phase.
