Important results from the project
The overall objective of the project was to organize a successful conference in 2016, in order to create a meeting place for the production of world class for Swedish players from industry and research. The conference on 11 - 12 May 2016 met the overall objective very well with a combination of high-class presentations and a high participation (168 participants). The distribution of participants shows that it attracts different groups; 45% of participants were from industry, 29% from academia, 22% from research organisations and 4% from the public sector.
Expected long term effects
The conference main objective was to spread knowledge about new results in production research Direct project results: Projects funded by Production2030 was presented during the conference Production2030 participated in the exhibition with material about an upcoming call Production2030 was thanked in the invitation and in the invitation supporting the conference. Presenting Production2030 at the conference increased the branding towards the automotive industry and helped building the basis for new applicants to calls for projects by Production2030.
Approach and implementation
The conference was organized by The Swedish Manufacturing R & D Clusters, consisting of R & D-active manufacturing companies in Sweden, leading R & D organizations, VINNOVA, FFI Sustainable Production and Swerea AB. May 11 included presentations on: forming, joining, surface treatment, assembly, logistics, geometry and quality assurance May 12 included presentations on: component manufacturing, production and maintenance management, additive manufacturing and digital manufacturing.
