Important results from the project

The purpose of implementing a sustainable innovation- / testbed operations is that Region Östergötland will get the opportunity to strategically and effectively manage innovations. That purpose is now fulfilled since the Unit for technology assessment, testing and innovation received a clear business mission around three main areas: - Support health care departments in the Region Östergötland who want to test and evaluate new solutions and develop their business - Contribute to new innovations are tested and developed - Contribute to more competitive companies in Östergötland

Expected long term effects

There is now a clear control of the operation when the Unit for technology assessment, testing and innovation formed on November 1 with a steering group comprising representatives of the Regional Management. The steering group has an innovation council and above that the Regional Director. Hence there is very good potential to link the activities / tasks carried out within the business to processes and strategies in Region Östergötland.

Approach and implementation

It has not been simple to have many external partners in a project like this, but the experience and the network that were the result of that is very positive for our future work within our Unit for technology assessment, testing and innovation. It is also a challenge to conduct a project over as long period as three years that in addition to set project goals also contains a business operation to handle incoming requests of innovation ideas. However, it has worked very well as project members have been very involved.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
