Important results from the project
Swedish Mining Innovations´ SME network has strengthened knowledge exchange and addressed priority needs in the mining sector. Through expanded collaboration and capacity building, SMEs can more effectively develop innovative solutions. Increased cooperation has generated more business opportunities, accelerated market introduction, and boosted competitiveness. The network thus fulfills its goals of broadening participation, promoting collaboration, and increasing the pace of innovation.
Expected long term effects
If there were to be a corresponding innovation arena for Swedish Metals & Minerals, it would cross-fertilize the respective value chains, the one from the old Metallic Materials and the one from the old Swedish Mining Innovation, in a value-creating way.
Approach and implementation
Create an SME-network in the mining industry that takes advantage of innovative SMEs in Sweden and also benefit the industry´s other actors. The network´s main focus will be to accelerate innovation capacity, create business and increase the competitiveness of SMEs, which benefits the whole industry. SMEs understands and meets the industry´s eligibility requirements to enable collaboration around innovation, product development, joint service offerings and market introduction.
