The project was run by Mälardalen University in collaboration with the Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center (MITC) and RISE.
Expected long term effects
The purpose of the proposed Svenska EDIH for Smart Manufacturing Industries is to strengthen, create and disseminate services that support manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation, and to support their work towards sustainable production. The consortium consists of: Mälardalen University ( Coordinator), Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center, RISE, Chalmers, Skövde University, KTH, Södertälje Science Park, and EIT Manufacturing CLC North. The proposal was submitted to European Commission on 22 January, 2022.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as a feasibility study to identify key organizations that can contribute to the EDIH and regional needs in the regions that will be the primary target region for the hub. The project was carried out in collaboration between participating organizations and need owners to identify a service list. There has also been a strong focus on identifying how national co-financing will work to support the hub and the EU funding.
