Call Planning grant for international proposal 2025

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the planning grant is to carry out detailed and planned preparatory work to maximise the funding chances of Smartmooring2, a transnational interdisciplinary research proposal between several European countries with the aim of bringing predictive maintenance strategies for ocean energy and offshore renewables closer to the market and prepare for large scale deployment. The proposal is coordinated by RISE and involving 2 Swedish commercial end-users

Expected effects and result

The planning grant is expected to result in a submitted, competitive proposal for the next CET Partnership Joint call, with the aim of advancing fiber-optic monitoring and digital-twin approaches to enable predictive assessment of wave and tidal energy systems and maximize energy generation.

Planned approach and implementation

Four defined tasks will be performed during the planning grant: organising workshops between the project partners and end-user SMEs to refine technical objectives, tests and validation plans to be performed in Smartmooring2; assessing the technical feasibility and associated risks to the monitored assets of some proposed concepts in the proposal; assisting international partners to liaise with their national agencies to meet co-funding rules; prepare and submit the proposal.
