Important results from the project

Based on the implementation of AI/ML, the project has focused on understanding and then strengthening the role of social services in designing and implementing data-driven systems and services. By putting users and staff at the center, and not technology suppliers or strategic staff, the project has explored and compiled what the premises for a democratic implementation of AI / ML can look like. During the project, the implementation of the progression measurement method BIP has also been studied and serves as a basis for handling user-data in future AI systems.

Expected long term effects

The project has laid the foundation for a proof and concept for democratic AI implementation in social work where the ambition is that with a pilot implementation of a system will be implemented in 2022. A plan to continue and in-depth study BIP within the project framework is planned for 2022, and will serve as a basis for continued work regarding the implementation of AI.

Approach and implementation

The project has consisted of an interview study and a series of workshops with people and organizations that coordinate and deliver social welfare services. In the final phase of the project, a proof of concept for an AI pilot in Linköping municipality, based on the project results, has been initiated. The project processes and work have suffered due to. the ongoing pandemic. Interviews, workshops and other activities we have repeatedly needed to be asked and and adjusted, which led to several challenges.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
