Important results from the project

We have focused on improving the methods of communicating and visualizing value - economic, architectural, cultural - early in the work. An architect and an antiquarian have a unique opportunity to read and understand buildings and see new opportunities. This requires that the skills come into play early in the process, and are given an expanded role in property development projects.

Expected long term effects

The purpose of this project is to contribute to new knowledge among property owners, project developers and consultants on how to identify values that can enable the development and preservation of existing buildings instead of demolition. Increasing the reuse of buildings is crucial to achieving our national environmental goals, and reducing the negative environmental impact of the construction sector.

Approach and implementation

The work has been continuously documented in text and images. The project group has had a platform for the material. We have disseminated information on our own websites and in social media. At the end of the work, the material and results were compiled in a report. We have conducted two workshops with the property owner, we have made inventories of the buildings, taken photographs and finally sketches and images to show our conclusions.
