Purpose and goal
The aim is to drive innovation, evaluation and implementation of XR technology in medical education, healthcare and medical care by integrating Extended Reality (XR) technologies across the entire healthcare chain. The project will focus on the following objective: -Overall introduction of XR technology in healthcare and rehabilitation -XR for education and learning – for both patients and healthcare providers -Industrial innovation by developing XR-based rehabilitation platforms
Expected effects and result
The project´s level of innovation is significant as it combines basic research with applied industrial use. The project provides increased quality of care, reduced care costs as multidisciplinary teams have new opportunities to collaborate virtually and follow patients´ development, which creates equal and personcentered care. The project strengthened the competitiveness of the Swedish medical technology industry globally by contributing to digitalization and sustainable solutions in healthcare.
Planned approach and implementation
Work package 1: XR-Based Visualization of Activated Muscles Using Motion Capture Work package 2: Codifying rehabilitation through intelligent, adaptive personalization, algorithm and digital twin development, integration in XR environment Work package 3: Virtual platform for distance rehab, development of virtual meeting room with individualized rehab programs Work package 4: AI-driven rehabilitation team with digital human avatar Work package 5: Product validation & market establishment.
