Produktion2030 Swedish platform for KIC Added Value Manufacturing

Important results from the project

The purpose and objective of the project was to inform and engage actors in the Swedish manufacturing industry , academia and research institutes about the possibilities of the European Platform for Innovation, education and entrepreneurship in production: KIC Added Value Manufacturing (KIC AVM). An important prerequisite for engaging Swedish actors is that they have a strong influence in the KIC. Expected long term effects

Information about the possibilities and collaborations with the KIC AVM has been presented to Swedish actors in the manufacturing industry, as well as to the Academy (The Swedish Production Academy ) and research institutes ( RISE ). Communication material has been produced , articles and newsletters have been written and two workshops have been held : at Swerea IVF and at Teknikföretagen. In March 2016 it was decided by Produktion2030 programme office to terminate the project . Reason for this was altered conditions from the EU, which greatly reduced Swedish actors influence.

Approach and implementation

The project progressed according to plan until March 2016 , when the programme office for Produktion2030 decided to terminate the project , five months earlier than planned. The reason for this was the EU:s decision to greatly decrease the number of actors allowed in the KIC-organization. Thus the nu,ber of Swedish actors with influence in the KIC was reduced to 2-4 partners. The consequence of the premature ending of the project is remaining funds in the budget.
