Important results from the project
The project has initiated the development of a common project platform and completed a detailed description, for this platform. Today, therefore, there is an established collaboration platform, with Swedish and Indian parties, in the area of Transport and Road Safety. The Consortium Agreement was acknowledged at a formal signing and launch event at UN Road Safety Ministerial conference in Stockholm February 2020. The parties have now built up an organization with board of directors, steering group and project organization.
Expected long term effects
The project has identified and signed agreements with suitable Indian partners, where they have jointly identified focus areas within Transport and Road safety areas to be prioritized in the future work. A workshop has been arranged in India, during the summer of 2019 and a workshop in Sweden, in November 2019, together with Indian authorities and partners. In addition, a signing ceremony, in Stockholm, where the parties agreed on continued work. In the joint work there is a steering organization, with board of directors, steering group and project group.
Approach and implementation
The parties have conducted several trips and workshops, between India and Sweden, and held weekly digital meetings within the steering and project groups. Through the activities, new contacts have been made, for long-term cooperation. The project platform has now a good overview of legal, technical and political opportunities to continue the collaboration. As the results of the collaboration, there is now a ready-made project plan for a first pilot project in the area, where the possibilities of a traffic management system för coach buses, in Indias hould be evaluated .
