Important results from the project
The project with environmentally ceramic building material has been successful through close cooperation between Porslinsfabriken, Högsbo Plattsättning and a building- and real estate company. The aim was to use our unique ceramic materials as tiles to mount on facades. This project uses a multi-system of aluminum profiles for mounting and hanging the tile.
Expected long term effects
Through the cooperation between various actors, the project has been implemented according to the plan. Tests of different tile sizes have been made on basis of the most suitable suspension system. The result has been satisfactory, but requires further work on refining technology and materials. Achieved effects may in a future be of great interest from building companies to use ceramic materials in their constructions.
Approach and implementation
An early contact was taken with Högsbo Plattsättning, which is a leading player in the market of suspension systems. Högsbo has contacts with suppliers in the German market, a market that uses these suspension systems in the building industry. In order to achieve best possible result and flexibility, meaning that a number of different types of suspension systems can interact, have been used in the project. A test wall has been prepared where stoneware tiles with the suspension device are mounted with good result.
