Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to solve the customer perceived problem hygiene. Thus the washability of radiation protection garments is an important aspect. New improved material has been developed and new processes have been developed to manufacture new material. Washability tests show great improvements from the initial tests.
Expected long term effects
During this project some important milstone in development of the final product has been reached. Further, this project has observed some challenges regarding the process speed for one of the process step. The NAFT material shows some advantage regarding the bending test compared to competitor.
Approach and implementation
The project has worked in four different work package (WP): Materialcomposition (WP1); Fiber to weave (WP2); Washability and storage (WP3) and Standard and evaluation (WP4). Some of the WP has taken longer time then expected. However, thanks to great collabortation with research institute, academia, industrial partners we have manufactured a prototype that has ongoing user test.
