Important results from the project
The aim has been to stimulate and mobilize swedish mining academic and industrial partners so they can participate in Horizon 2020 and EIT RawMaterials. The goal is met by the approval of the EIT RawMaterials, and participation in at least six different Horizon 2020 projects which have been approved or are in the process of being approved. The work programs within SC5 Horizon 2020 has during the year 2014-2017 been very well adapted for the Swedish mining sector´s needs.
Expected long term effects
The project has turned in 12 leverage-checks for networking for Horizon 2020 participation, the implementation of a study tour for the Head of Unit at DG Enterprise F3 in Swedish mine, contribution to the International Conference Ground Support in Lulea to stimulate Horizon 2020 participation. The project has also influenced the work programs in the H2020 so SC5 fit the needs of the Swedish mining sector. Networking activities has been made through a network StratMet has coordinated and participation has also been made in activities that VINNOVA has arranged.
Approach and implementation
The activities of the project has been synchronized with the SIP STRIM strategy and an analysis of how SIP STRIM program can be translated into Horizon 2020 was made in the start the project, an advocacy strategy was then later formulated. The mining sector is very well functioning with various platforms between academy partners and industrial partners for strategic discussions, that is why SIP STRIM steering group worked as steering group also for this project and the project leader has been part of the SIP STRIM management team.
