Important results from the project

Kraftens hus in Borås is Sweden´s first support center for people affected by cancer, which was initiated and designed by, for and with cancer affected. The business model is based on the integration of society´s resources and a collaboration between users and businesses in both the public and private sectors. During the project, we have developed structure and methods for scaling up and spreading to more locations.

Expected long term effects

The overall goal of the project is to strengthen our capacity for user-driven social innovation, and facilitate the integration of society´s resources so we can meet the social needs of cancer affected even better and thereby contribute to health, well-being and reduced inequality in support for cancer affected. This project has resulted in continued funding for Kraftens hus in Borås, financial support for establishment in Gothenburg and an expressed wish to see establishment in more cities.

Approach and implementation

Together with cancer affected, the board, business representatives and partners, we have developed our ability for user-driven social innovation and prepared the business for dissemination. Covid-19 pandemic changed the conditions for the business and the project radically, but managed to carry out the project´s intentions anyway and we are well equipped when the pandemic is over.
