Important results from the project
We have learned about the market and suitable users needs, we have designed and built working prototypes and tested them according to various design parameters such as material selections, designs, etc. Performance and lifetime durability have been improved. Several patent applications have been submitted.
Expected long term effects
The product can enable, a ten-fold reduction in weight compared to a ´normal´ passive solution. It also allows new system design solutions and can reduce overall system weight, which means easier mounting structures leading to cheaper installation costs. In comparison with mechanical fan cooling, the product has lower power consumption, is quieter, smaller and easier to integrate.
Approach and implementation
We started the project with literature studies and simple concept tests, we investigated market and learned to understand customer needs. This lead us to better adopt the technical development to suitable markets and suitable demo products. IPR strategy has been developed with the help of a patent attorney and is adapted to future markets. Furthermore, we have applied for EU funding to be able to continue the work and we have met with investors and suitable distributors.
